This qualification is for cooks with advanced cookery skills and a solid understanding of kitchen operations. They work somewhat independently, exercising discretion and judgment while following established plans, policies, and procedures.
Upon completion, individuals are recognized as trade cooks.
This qualification offers a pathway to employment as a cook in various settings, including restaurants, hotels, clubs, pubs, cafes, and coffee shops.
All skills obtained in this qualification must align with Commonwealth and State/Territory laws, Australian standards, and industry codes of practice. There are no specific occupational licensing, certification, or legislative requirements for this qualification as of its publication.
