

This Skill Set addresses the skills and knowledge required to work in entry-level care roles in the aged care and disability support sectors. These sectors are identified growth areas and will continue to need trained workers now and into the future. This skill set would be suitable for people seeking a platform towards a new and meaningful career.
Delivered over two weeks, the Entry into Care Roles Skill Set includes three units of competency which provide learners with foundational knowledge and skills, including safe work practices and infection prevention procedures. This course has been designed to meet an immediate and growing industry need and can offer pathways into further training. The units provide credit towards the CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support and other qualifications that allow for faster course progression.

The CHCSS00114 Entry Into Care Roles Skill Set equips students with the some of the key skills required to gain employment in the aged care and disability sector. As the industry is constantly growing and always looking for new workers, students who complete the skill set have the potential to work in the healthcare sector.
Who Is the CHCSS00114 Entry Into Roles Skill Set Designed For?
This course is designed for entry level candidates looking to gain the skills needed to get a job in the aged care or disability sector. This might include people looking for a career change, young people looking to enter the workforce, or people interested in the care sector but are unsure about committing to a full qualification.
3 days a week (Monday – Wednesday) over a 3 week period with 1 day work placement, unless you choose to progress into our Certificate III in individual Support
With the CHCSS00114 Skill Set being offered across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and Perth, students will be able to spend their 3 weeks of study across any of our campuses.

This Entry into Care Roles Skill Set is available for free to residents of Western Australia who fall into one of the following categories.
- Persons aged 15-24 years at the time of enrolment (excluding students enrolled at school)
- Persons and dependents of persons receiving JobKeeper payment
- Persons and dependents of persons in receipt of services from one of the following Commonwealth support or employment services programs:
- Jobactive
- Online Employment Services
- ParentsNext
- Persons and dependents of persons receiving the Youth Allowance, AUSTUDY or ABSTUDY
- Persons and dependents of persons holding:
- a pensioner concession card or Health Care Card; or
- a Repatriation Health Benefits Card issued by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs
- Dependents of persons who are inmates of a custodial institution.
The CHCSS00114 skill set is offered to you fee-free, subsidized by the Western Australian Government as part of the Priority Industry Training (PIT) funding arrangements. You must be eligible to enroll in this course. Read the eligibility criteria to see if you are eligible.
